    NC Medicaid Flexibilities due to Hurricane Florence Ended Oct. 5, 2018

    NC Medicaid and Health Choice provided flexibilities between Sept. 14, 2018 and Oct. 5, 2018 which made it faster and easier for beneficiaries to receive, and for health care professionals to provide, care and services. More information is available in the Sept. 27, 2018 Medicaid Special Bulletin.

    Temporary Changes to NC Medicaid Policies & Procedures

    • If you evacuated from North Carolina, you can still see a doctor, even if you are out of state.
    • If you are in the NC Medicaid Lock-in Program and need to change your selected prescriber due to Hurricane Florence, contact the NCTracks Pharmacy Call Center at 1-866-246-8505 and request a change to another prescriber.
    • If you are uninsured or a Medicaid beneficiary who needs behavioral health care, call your regional behavioral health Local Management Entity/Managed Care Organization (LME/MCO).
    • South Carolina Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance Program beneficiaries who are in North Carolina due to Hurricane Florence may visit a health care professional for medically necessary and time-sensitive services.

    Home and Community-Based Waivers Appendix K Amendments Effective from Sept. 7, 2018 to Dec. 29, 2018

    NC Medicaid and Health Choice received approval from CMS to amend the Home and Community-Based Services waiver to add an Emergency Preparedness and Response Appendix K for the following:

    • The Community Alternatives Program for Children (CAP/C)
    • The Community Alternatives Program for Disabled Adults (CAP/DA)
    • NC Innovations
