Enrollment for CAP/DA Direct Service Informational Webinar

Becoming qualified will enable providers to render one or more of the CAP/DA services listed below* or other approved Medicaid services for a CAP/DA beneficiary.</p>

The Community Alternatives Program for Disabled Adults (CAP/DA) unit within NC Medicaid will host an informational webinar on how to become a CAP/DA-qualified direct service provider. Becoming qualified will enable providers to render one or more of the CAP/DA services listed below* or other approved Medicaid services for a CAP/DA beneficiary.

This webinar is intended to provide specific enrollment guidelines in the following areas:

  1. The minimum qualifications to render any one of the CAP/DA services listed below*
  2. The CAP/DA taxonomies that must be included in a Manage Change Request (MCR) to render and receive payment for CAP/DA services  
  3. Showing proof that minimum qualifications were met to request to be added to a Freedom of Choice of Provider Selection form in your county(ies) of business 
  4. The timeframe to accept the service authorization to begin service planning to render CAP/DA service(s)

This webinar is being offered because the CAP/DA §1915(c) Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waiver application has been renewed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The waiver renewal is effective Nov. 1, 2019 through Oct. 31, 2024.

  • CAP in-home aide
  • Case management
  • Community transition
  • Community integration
  • Coordinated caregiving
  • Equipment, modification and technology
  • Goods and services – participant; individual-directed; chore services-declutter and garbage disposal; non-medical transportation; nutritional services; pest eradication
  • Financial management
  • Meal preparation and delivery
  • Personal emergency response services
  • Personal assistance
  • Respite services – institutional and in-home
  • Specialized medical supplies
  • Training, education and consultative services

All providers interested in providing in-home aide services, durable medical equipment, medical supplies, goods and services, adult day health, meal preparation and delivery, financial management, case management and coordinated caregiving.
