Electronic Visit Verification Implementation: Extension of Pay and Report Period

NC Medicaid will extend the pay and report period for providers subject to Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) past the original cutoff date of March 31, 2021. During the pay and report period, claims will not pend based on failed EVV validation. If a claim fails EVV validation, the system generates a report of the EVV validation issue allowing the provider to cure the issue. Provider agencies are to continue capturing visits electronically for all beneficiaries subject to the EVV requirements. Alternate EVV vendors are to continue to send visits to the Sandata Aggregator.

NC Medicaid is working in collaboration with Sandata to resolve outstanding issues provider agencies and alternate EVV vendors may be experiencing. Additional guidance will be issued in the coming weeks to further address the extended pay and report period. Medicaid will provide 30 days’ notice prior to the conclusion of pay and report.
