SPECIAL BULLETIN COVID-19 #197: Involuntary Disenrollments from PACE
PACE involuntary disenrollments will no longer be suspended for any reason

Effective Nov. 1, 2021, involuntary disenrollments from the Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly will no longer be suspended for any reason.

This guidance supplements SPECIAL BULLETIN COVID-19 #145.

Effective Nov. 1, 2021, involuntary disenrollments from the Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) will no longer be suspended for any reason including non-payment of the participant monthly liability. The PACE organizations should resume following guidance and requirements at 42 CFR 460.164 involuntary disenrollment and NC Medicaid Clinical Coverage Policy No: 3B Sections 5.4.2 and 5.4.3 for involuntary disenrollments. 

Please note all involuntary disenrollments must be approved by NC Medicaid prior to the PACE organization notifying the participant about the involuntary disenrollment.
