As communicated in SPECIAL BULLETIN COVID-19 #220: Temporary Rate Increases Extended or Replaced, NC Medicaid extended the COVID-19 rate increase for Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) through March 2022. Additional information on temporary rate increases and HCBS rates was included in SPECIAL BULLETIN COVID-19 #230.
The SNF room and board percentage was inadvertently changed to 95% vs. the COVID-19 percentage of 100%. NC Medicaid is currently in the process of revising this change in NCTracks.
Room and Board applicable claims with dates of service Jan. 1, 2022, through Feb. 20, 2022, will be systematically reprocessed at a later date. NC Medicaid will provide updates and additional details on the reprocessing in upcoming Medicaid bulletins.
