Effective April 1, 2023, NC Medicaid will cover ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM). This service aids in the confirmation or exclusion of suspected hypertension. It is effective for the monitoring of treatment efficacy in patients with masked hypertension or white coat syndrome.
Providers will be able to bill the following procedure codes for ABPM:
- 93790 Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, utilizing report generated software, automated, worn continuously for 24 hours or longer; review with interpretation and report
- 93784 Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, utilizing report generated software, automated, worn continuously for 24 hours or longer; including recording, scanning analysis, interpretation and report.
