The federal Public Health Emergency (PHE) for COVID-19, declared under Section 319 of the Public Health Service (PHS) Act, expired May 11, 2023.

With the end of the PHE the following will occur:

  • Medicaid providers are required to reverify with NC Medicaid. Providers with deferred reverification and approaching reverification due dates will be mailed notification letters.
  • The MCV beneficiary plan will end May 31, 2023.
  • Appendix K Flexibilities - CAP/C will implement a coordinated transition plan from COVID-19 Appendix K Flexibilities to regular program administration by Nov. 2023. With the CAP/C Waiver renewal, a legally responsible person may become a paid caregiver, when qualifying conditions are met. Additional information can be found on the CAP/C webpage.
