Community Alternatives Program for Children (CAP/C) Waiver Renewal Stakeholder Engagement

By October 2021, NC Medicaid will submit a request to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to renew the CAP/C waiver.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

NC Medicaid announced in September 2020 that the Community Alternatives Program for Children (CAP) §1915(c) Home- and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waiver application would expire. The CAP/C waiver will expire on Feb. 28, 2022. By October 2021, NC Medicaid will submit a request to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to renew the CAP/C waiver.  

Stakeholder Engagement 

To kick off the 2022 renewal of the CAP/C waiver, NC Medicaid will hold a CAP/C stakeholder discussion on Feb. 23, 2021, from 1:30-3:00 p.m. to share and respond to the comments received during the September - December 2020 public comment period and outline the timeline for  waiver renewal activities.
