The Community Alternatives Program for Children (CAP/C) waiver will expire on Feb. 28, 2022. By October 2021, NC Medicaid will submit a request to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to renew the CAP/C waiver.
NC Medicaid kicked off the renewal activities of the CAP/C waiver with external stakeholders on Feb. 28, 2021. During that engagement, volunteers were asked to participate in small work groups to discuss and provide feedback in the waiver operation areas of:
- services that are working well
- meaningful quality measures
- exploring new approaches to ensure waiver access for historically marginalized populations statewide
CAP/C small work groups will convene weekly beginning April 5, 2021 and ending on May 12, 2021. These work groups are open to the public and will go from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
