North Carolina Medicaid and NC Health Choice Clinical Coverage Policy 3G-1, Private Duty Nursing for Beneficiaries Age 21 and Older, is amended with the effective date of Sept. 1, 2021.
The amended private duty nursing (PDN) policy includes additional health criteria for admission to be more inclusive of common care needs that extend into adulthood, a section for therapeutic leave as well as additional process revisions, and clarification to other policy areas.
The amended policy is available at: https://medicaid.ncdhhs.gov/community-based-services-clinical-coverage-policies. This policy supersedes previously published policies and procedures.
