NC Medicaid’s Third-Party Liability (TPL) contractor, Health Management Systems (HMS), a Gainwell Technologies Company, has updated the Medicaid Credit Balance Report (DMA-2044-ia) and Instructions for Completing the Medicaid Credit Balance Report (DMA-2045) to capture additional information needed for Credit Balance Audits.
The purpose of this change is to ensure adequate data is received from providers so that adjustments are processed correctly. The new form and instructions can be accessed at the NC Medicaid Third Party Insurance Forms webpage.
