The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services recently awarded Acentra Health the contract as the Comprehensive Independent Assessment Entity (CIAE) for NC Medicaid.
Acentra Health will provide management and oversight for the Preadmission Screening Resident Review (PASRR) Level II process and will also serve as the Local Contact Agency (LCA), responsible for providing interested Nursing Facility (NF) residents with options for transitioning from institutional care to community-based living.
Over the next few months, PASRR Level II assessment activities and LCA responsibilities will undergo a phased implementation from EarthMark Consultants (a subcontractor for Gainwell Technologies) and the Area Agencies on Aging (AAA) to Acentra Health. The goal is to ensure the PASRR Level II program and options counseling for individuals seeking to transition from institutional care to community-based living continues without disruption to beneficiaries and providers.
