Note: The deadlines stated in this bulletin replace those previously published in the Post-Enrollment National Accreditation Update bulletin April 16, 2026.
This bulletin applies to NC Medicaid Managed Care and NC Medicaid Direct.
Organizational providers enrolled with taxonomy 251S00000X now have until Oct. 1, 2026, to ensure enrollment with at least one SERVICE-TYPE (column AE on the Provider Permission Matrix) and SERVICE (column AF). Services may be added through the submission of a Manage Change Request in NCTracks. Providers enrolled with taxonomy 251S00000X, but no active service must act by this deadline to avoid termination of the taxonomy and potentially the service location and provider record.
The state is currently making additional updates to taxonomy 251S00000X to include adding Services that do not require national accreditation. Providers using taxonomy 251S00000X are advised to monitor the NCTracks website for information about these new Services, expected early August 2026.
Provider organizations that do not meet criteria for a Service Type and Service on today’s Provider Permission Matrix (PPM) are encouraged to wait for these additional changes before submitting a Manage Change Request.
