This bulletin applies to NC Medicaid Managed Care and NC Medicaid Direct.
The Community/Behavioral Health taxonomy (251S00000X) requires an active Service Type and Service. Providers with this taxonomy but no active Service were given until Oct. 1, 2026, to add at least one Service Type and Service to their NCTracks enrollment record under their 251S00000X taxonomy.
The Oct. 1, 2026, deadline has passed. Providers enrolled with taxonomy 251S00000X without a Service will have the taxonomy terminated from the NCTracks record effective Nov. 2, 2026. Organizations without an active Service or a submitted and pending MCR or reverification application by Oct. 30, 2026, will be subject to termination of the 251S00000X taxonomy.
Effective Nov. 2, 2026
Effective Nov. 2, 2026, the taxonomy will be end-dated if no action is taken. If this is the only active taxonomy for the service location, the service location will terminate. If the only service location terminates, the enrollment record will terminate.
