ANSWER:

Healthy Blue Care Together (HBCT) will post information about 1915(i) on the Provider Website, via a Provider Bulletin, and is available to discuss during office hours meeting.

Additionally, providers can contact their dedicated HBCT Provider Relationship Account Consultant, call the Provider Service number, or e-mail our Provider Relations team with questions.

ANSWER:

Providers can take an on-demand 1915(i) training course to learn more about 1915i services. They will also receive information during scheduled office hours and during 1:1 meetings with their dedicated Provider Relations Account Consultant.

Training and provider education is available on the HBCT Medicaid Providers website.

HBCT hosts ongoing provider office hours where 1915(i) questions are welcome. All office hour, webinar and on-demand training registration is available on the HCBT Provider Schedules and Registration webpage.

Each provider is assigned a dedicated HBCT Provider Relations Account Consultant that will be glad to assist providers with any questions.

ANSWER:

The HBCT Care Managers Team will complete the 1915(i) assessment and once completed will email to Carelon at NCMedicaid1915irequests@carelon.com.

ANSWER:

Upon submission of a completed assessment to Carelon. HBCT Care Managers will receive direct feedback from Carelon regarding the results.

Providers may also contact the Care Manager for assistance in verifying the status of a 1915(i) assessment and confirming eligibility determinations.

ANSWER:

All HBCT Care Managers should review the member’s health record to identify any current or historical contact information.

If the member has a current service provider, the care manager should work with that provider to engage the member.

If the member is still unreachable, the care managers should follow routine “Unable to Contact” best efforts, including mailing the member a letter.

ANSWER:

HBCT Care Managers will be the primary point of contact. All member contact information will be housed in the identified care management platform that is routinely updated.

HBCT Care Managers can find a list of contracted providers using the Find a Doctor tool on the HBCT public website.

ANSWER:

All HBCT Care Managers are trained on steps to complete 1915(i) Care Plan/ISP.

1915i Overview and Assessment Training provided by MAHEC. 

ANSWER:

HBCT Care Managers will adhere to guidance provided in the HBCT Provider Manual on topics related to submission of authorization requests.

ANSWER:

Care Managers can use the HBCT Authorization Look Up Tool and/or reference the corresponding Clinical Coverage Policy.

HBCT can also refer to the Behavioral Health Benefit Grid.

ANSWER:

If request was submitted through Availity (the provider secure authorization portal) log in to Availity to check on the status of the request.

If request was submitted via fax at (866) 670-4880 or by phone at (833)777-3698; they can contact the HCBT Behavioral Health Utilization Management Department.

Providers can call HBCT’s Provider Services at 833-777-3698 to inquire about a member’s care manager.
