Assessment Fee Adjustment for Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities

Effective Oct. 1, 2024, NC Medicaid decreased the Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities provider assessment

Effective Oct. 1, 2024, NC Medicaid decreased the Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID) provider assessment from $28.95 to $28.32 per licensed bed day.

This decrease is implemented to recognize the change in Federal Medical Assistance Percentage (FMAP) associated with the beginning of a new federal fiscal year and the enhanced FMAP the state received pursuant to Section 9814 of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (Pub. L. 117-2).

ICF-IID provider assessments are due within 15 calendar days of the last day of the reporting month. For example, payment at the new rate for the reporting month of October 2024 is due by Nov. 15, 2024.

Providers must complete and submit provider assessments timely in the Nursing Home Assessment (NHA) Portal to assure the assessment is calculated at the proper rate.
