Summary on WellCare of North Carolina merger with Carolina Complete Health
WellCare of North Carolina will merge with Carolina Complete Health April 1, 2026. The name of the combined NC Medicaid Managed Care health plan will be Carolina Complete Health. The new unified health plan will be available to Medicaid beneficiaries statewide.
A letter was sent to current WellCare members to let them know of the upcoming change. Basic benefits will stay the same and most members will keep their current primary care provider.
