Hospice Services
The NC Medicaid hospice benefit provides a comprehensive set of services, identified and coordinated by a hospice interdisciplinary group (IDG). This singular team delivers medical, nursing, social, psychological, emotional, and spiritual services, focusing on providing physical and emotional comfort through a holistic approach. The goal is to maintain the best possible quality of life for a terminally ill beneficiary, as well as their families and caregivers.
The primary focus of hospice services is to meet the needs and goals of the beneficiary, family and caregivers ensuring minimal disruption to daily activities. Hospice care is provided in the environment that best supports the beneficiary’s comfort and care needs.
