Chiropractic Services
Chiropractic services provide Medicaid beneficiaries with services for manual manipulation of the spine to correct dislocation that resulted in a neuromusculoskeletal condition. Office visits are included as part of the service.
Pregnant women with Medicaid for Pregnant Women (MPW) benefits (pink MID card) are eligible for chiropractic services if the service is required for a pregnancy-related condition. Chiropractic services for these beneficiaries must be prior approved.
X-rays
- Medicaid covers X-rays to document the neuromusculoskeletal condition.
- Medicaid allows one X-ray within a six-month period without documentation of medical necessity.
- Pregnant women are exempted from the X-ray requirement.
