Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID) are places that provide special care to people with intellectual disabilities or related conditions. These facilities offer a safe living environment and services to help people live their best life.
ICF-IID Services
Services include:
- Ongoing evaluation and planning to meet individual needs
- 24-hour supervision to ensure safety
- Coordinating health care and rehabilitation services to help people do as much as they can on their own
Active treatment is a key part of the care. It means the facility provides continuous and focused programs to help with learning new skills, treatment, health care and other services.
Eligibility
To receive care in an ICF-IID, a person must be enrolled in the NC Medicaid Program.
