Home Infusion Therapy (HIT) Covers:
Home Infusion Therapy (HIT) provides medicine and supplies to NC Medicaid beneficiaries who live in a private home or adult care home. With HIT, people can get certain medicines through an IV (a tube that goes into a vein) at home.
HIT Does Not Cover:
HIT services are not covered if:
- The medicine is used for something other than chemotherapy, antibiotic therapy or pain management.
- The person is already getting Medicare-covered home health nursing services.
- The person is getting private duty nursing through NC Medicaid.
Eligibility
To get HIT services, a person must:
- Have a NC Medicaid card
- Qualify for Home Infusion Services based on program rules
