The Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) is an NC Medicaid program that helps older adults get the care they need at home instead of a nursing home.

PACE Eligibility

To receive PACE services, a person must:

  • Be age 55 or older
  • Need the kind of care people get in a nursing home
  • Live in an area where PACE is offered
  • Be able to live safely at home with or without help
  • Have Medicaid, Medicare or both, or
  • Be able to pay out of pocket for care, or
  • Qualify for PACE Medicaid*
  • Meet NC Medicaid’s long-term care rules for money and finance

More Information

If someone meets all the PACE rules but has more income than NC Medicaid Direct allows, they might still qualify for PACE Medicaid.
